General Questions
Q: What is Untamed Kingdom?
A: Untamed Kingdom is an animal survival game where you can play as an animal of your choice and live how you want in our custom made maps that are made for specific animals and their naturally found biome's in the world.
Q: Is there a release date?
A: Early Access will be released on steam February 27th.
Q: Is The Untamed Kingdom for purchase? If so, where can I buy it?
A: It's currently not for sale yet. But you can wishlist Untamed Kingdom on Steam so you'll be notified when it's out!
Q: How much will the game be when released?
A: It will be $30 USD for the full game with all the DLC. For the base game, it will be $15 USD. Depending on your country's conversion rate it could be more or less.
Q: Where will I be able to buy the game?
A: You'll be able to buy the game off Steam. (Currently planning to release on the PlayStation and Xbox store as well but not confirmed yet!)
Q: Will the game allow the use of controllers or game pads?
A: Yes, the game will allow usage of controllers.
Q: Where can I find updates on the game?
A: You can find all updates regarding game development both on our website and as well in our Discord, under the Untamed Development Category in our #game-updates & #gameplay-sneak-peek announcement channels!
Q: Will Untamed Kingdom have the ability to play across platforms? (cross-play)
A: We do not have a set in stone plan for cross platform gameplay at this time.
Q: Will MODs or modding be added to the game?
A: There are plans of mod support being added in the future.
Q: Besides Beta, is there a timeline for the ACTUAL launch of the finished game?
A: We cannot provide an estimation at this time.
Q: Will there be AI in the game?
A: There will be AI later on but not during beta.
Developer/Development Questions
Q: Who are the Developers working on the game?
A: You can find our developers and their amazing work (that can be shared) via our Discord.
Q: What game engine are you using, as the animal models and their textures look amazing?
A: Our game is being developed via Unreal Engine 5, the color textures and models are made via Blender and Substance Painter 3D.
Q: Are the pictures provided in the channel, created by the devs and a part of the game?
A: Many of our current models are placeholder ones that have been purchased for use in the game. We plan on creating our unique models in the future with updated animations and sounds!
Public Beta Questions
Q: What is “private beta” exactly??
A: Private beta will be the pre-release of the public beta to use dot test server performance and make sure there are no immediate game breaking bugs or issues. It is currently private to enable us to have direct contact with the beta testers to quickly address any issues that arise.
Q: Will Beta (in general) be available on other consoles?
A: Private Beta is planned to release only on PC however our public beta is planned to release on all consoles.
Donator/Exclusive Skin Questions/Subscriptions/DLCs
Q: Will we be able to breed with our unique animals/skins?
A: We are still reviewing exactly how we plan to release the true predator animals but imported and exclusive animals will be breed-able but the nested player will lose the animal on death.
Q: What do you get if you donate?
A: For information on our donations, you can read read them in #donations in our Discord. However, we are no longer offering pledge rewards, but you can find out more about past rewards for each pledge via this channel: #donation-rewards
Q: What will the DLCs be? Will they be purchasable later on?
A: A mix of maps and cosmetics. The DLC maps will have animals unique to their biomes which will be locked on official servers, HOWEVER community servers will have the option to add those animals to any map they wish as they are released.
Q: Will people who do not own rare animals be able to be nested in as them? (such as the Komodo)
A: Yes, we currently plan for those with rare animals to be able to nest others, whether they have the Komodo or not.
Playable Questions
Q: What kinds of animals will there be?
A: All kinds from all over the world!
Q: Will all the animals be on the same map?
A: No. All animals will have maps made according to their biomes! So meaning there will not be Lions mixing with Polar Bears. Community servers will be able to choose what animals go on their map.
Q: Will there be collisions with players?
A: Yes! You won't be able to mesh through other players or most foliage, so be careful where you are running!
Q: What do we start off as? What’s the growth system like?
A: Players will start off as a juvie. There will be passive growth, similar to The Isle but much faster.
Q: Will the models show growth over time? Such as a young lion cub growing its mane?
A: Yes we plan to have animals show their growth as they age. It will not be like the player needs to press a button to grow and then suddenly they’re larger; it'll be more like growth over time.
Q: Will there be a point system for skills?
A: There will be something along those lines. We will definitely be adding a scaling system so everyone can have their own unique builds!
Q: Will there be sexual dimorphism (differences in gender)?
A: You will be able to distinguish the genders of animals, whether by color or size.
Q: Will there be nesting/mating/breeding in the game?
A: Yes!
Q: Are extinct animals planned?
A: We currently do not plan on adding any extinct animals into the game.
Q: Will there be a set of calls for each animal? How will they work? Will there be animations?
A: Each animal has a different call, much similar to their real-life counterpart (if applicable) featuring different animations where possible or needed. The calls may be similar to Path of Titan or The Isle calls/emotes, featuring the standard broadcast, friendly, threaten, danger, etc.
Q: Will there be customization? How does it work?
A: Yes, the game will have customization. Skins are pre-made and you would pick which one you want. There will be DLC skins as well. A big note with skins, is that there will be no neon colors, we strive for more realistic looking skins.
Q: Will colors be passed down through breeding?
A: Still being worked on, but it is something being discussed.
Q: Will certain animals be able to knock down small trees?
A: At the moment, there is no official answer as we’re still in early development and figuring things out.
Q: Will there be hybrids or cross-breeding?
A: Hybrids such as “tigon” or “liger” will not be obtainable through breeding. However, True Predator pledges may ask for the skin to be applied to one of the parent species, and if approved, this is the only way such an animal could be seen on Untamed Kingdom.
Q: Will there be a latch mechanism, particularly for big cats such as lions?
A: There will be a latch mechanism in the game. Big cats will be able to latch on, though it will be difficult, and if you fail to do so, you can trip and fall.
Q: How will the grouping system work? In groups, will members be able to see each other’s names across the map or will it be based on render-distance?
A: Still being worked out.
Q: Will animals be able to pivot, turn in place, and/or have more locomotion (similar to real life)?
A: Currently, it is being worked on with animations so the entire body does not move at once.
Q: Will there be special animations in the game for each animal? (i.e. such as takedowns)
A: At the moment we’re still looking into it.
Q: Are scars planned? Will they be permanent or temporary?
A: Scars from attacks taken in game are still being discussed.
Q: Will there be saved slots so we may change our animal?
A: Yes, there will be multiple slots so you can change your animal.
Q: Will animals be able to talk to everyone or only their species?
A: Right now it will be local chat as we are still deciding if it will be between species or close proximity.
Q: Will there be Extreme weather events like Tornadoes, Hurricanes, Blizzards, etc.?
A: There will definitely be weather, as for extreme weather as you're describing that would be something that comes at a later date after release if they decide they want to put it in the game.
Map/Object/Asset Questions
Q: Are all assets you’ve posted in the Discord paid for? Are they finished? Are they custom-made or are they pre-bought assets? Will we EVER have custom-made models?
A: Anything being worked on currently has been purchased from artists. However, we go in and create our own animations, skin textures and fur. The plan is when we reach our budget goal, we plan on making our own models using the funding after open beta to start that development. Most likely, it’s a placeholder (including animations) that will be replaced or already has been if it has not been posted within these past couple of months.
Q: Will there be objects to climb?
A: Yes, there will be climb-able objects.
Other Questions
Q: When the beta comes out, can we stream the game?
A: Absolutely!
Q: What are server partnerships all about? What are their perks, etc?
A: Server partners are trusted servers or individuals with the game. They either provide mutual promotion, members, or other qualities that the game is honored to be accompanied with. While we don’t monitor our partners 24/7, please ensure that if a partner is harming the game or its integrity, we take this VERY seriously. We do not yet have specific requirements for partners, but if you are interested, please make a ticket in our Discord. We’ll discuss the possibility!
Q: Can I invite people to the server?
A: The more, the merrier! Please do!
Q: Will Untamed Kingdom come to old generations of consoles, or only new generations?
A: We cannot confirm a specific generation of console as of yet. Next generation should be what we release on, if we partner, and we hope that there will be compatibility with older generations, but we are not yet able to say for sure
